Read the transcript
In the walkthrough, a student uploads a solicitation. Scout reads the document and pulls out the agency, the solicitation number, the product line items, the mandatory specifications and the response deadline, showing the source text for each value. The student confirms the quantities and flags one model number that looks wrong. Opportunity Shield then generates a supplier safe view that leaves out the agency name, buyer contact, solicitation number and deadline, so suppliers see only what they need to quote. The student records three supplier calls, compares the quotes, checks how much cash the order needs, and reviews the readiness report before deciding whether to bid. Nothing is submitted, purchased or financed by the system.
Where it breaks
The eight places new resellers get stuck
Finding the opportunity is the easy part. Everything after it is where deals quietly die.
The strategy
How the government reseller strategy works
A government product reseller, sometimes called a middleman, supplies products an agency already wants to buy. You do not manufacture anything. You read the requirement correctly, find a legitimate supplier, fund the order and deliver on time.
- 01
Upload the opportunity
Drop in the solicitation, purchase order or screenshot. Scout extracts requirements and shows the source text behind each field so you can confirm or flag it.
- 02
Confirm the requirements
Quantities, units, model numbers, deadlines and mandatory requirements are confirmed by you, not assumed by the system. Conflicts are flagged for review.
- 03
Source the supplier under Shield
Opportunity Shield generates a supplier safe view that withholds the agency name, buyer contact, solicitation number and bid deadline.
- 04
Check funding and profit
Work out the cash the order needs, where the gap is, and what the margin looks like after freight and financing cost.
- 05
Make a bid or no-bid decision
A readiness review shows green, yellow and red items. Walking away from a damaging bid counts as a good outcome here.
- 06
Deliver, get accepted, get paid
Track the order, shipping, acceptance, invoicing and the profit you actually recorded.

Straight talk about numbers
Contract value is not earnings
$15,000
A possible contract or purchase value on a public order. It is not your revenue and it is not your profit.
$50,000
A possible contract or purchase value on a public order. It is not your revenue and it is not your profit.
$500,000
A possible contract or purchase value on a public order. It is not your revenue and it is not your profit.
Contract value is what an agency spends, not what you keep. Product cost, freight, packaging, financing cost and payment timing all come out of it first. This product does not promise an award, supplier approval, financing, revenue or profit, and results depend entirely on your own work and circumstances.
